Picked up at the Yasukuni Antique Shrine market this Edo Period tsuba for a tanto or smaller wakizashi is very stout and strong looking made of iron, it has a wonderful shape with gold accenting the eye and religious symbol held by the dragons' tail on reverse side, and details of the dragon are accented by relief carvings and raised seppadai and opening for a possible side tool instrument such as a kozuka/kogatana or kogai. Comes in custom made kiri wood box. Please contact me if you are interested in this tsuba to outfit your Nihonto or even as a great period piece and collector's item. Cheers , Hamaki
